Why do you need an MOT?
An MOT certificate is a legal requirement for cars that are 3 years old or above that are used on UK roads. The certificate is valid for 12 months and your car will need to be retested up to a month before it's anniversary. Your new MOT certificate will be valid for another 12 months from the expiry date, for example if your MOT is valid until 21st May and passes the MOT test on the 11th May your new certificate will still be valid until the 21st May the following year.
